ASUS ZenWatch 3 Looks Like a Watch You’d Actually Wear

Smartwatches and other wearables are continuing to mature in such a way that many of the new offerings we’re seeing today look less chunky and more like something you’d actually wear. The new iteration of ASUS’ smartwatch, the ZenWatch 3 is a great example of this. The ASUS ZenWatch 3 looks more like a real watch than ever before, while adding new features.

Encased in stainless steel, the ZenWatch 3 comes in a few styles you can choose from: gunmetal, silver, and rose gold. All 3 of them feature a gold inlay, framing the watch face and giving it an extra touch of class. Whichever style you choose, the ZenWatch 3 has an accompanying leather strap to match.

The ZenWatch 3 sports a round 1.39 inch AMOLED display with a 400 x 400 resolution, which gives it a pixel density of 287ppi. It’s a little on the thick side compared to other smartwatches, measuring 9.95mm. Inside beats the heart of a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor coupled with 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a 341mAh battery that should keep it alive for up to two days. Charging is pretty fast two, getting up to 60% in just 15 minutes and there’s also an option for an extra battery pack.

The ZenWatch 3 runs Android Wear and can connect with both Android and iOS devices. There are a few fitness tracking features, such as a step counter. Just don’t expect too much in that regard though.

The ASUS ZenWatch 3 will be priced at 229 Euros with no word on availability yet. ASUS has been pretty good at bringing in their devices to the Philippines in a timely manner though, so we’ll probably see this in time for the Christmas season.
