Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Gets a Teardown!

Adulting is hard. So when the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum was recently announced, I was all excited. After all, what’s not to love about a robot vacuum that’ll automatically clean your room for you and costs just a fraction of the price of a Roomba? It’s 1,699 yuan price tag is pretty attractive (about Php11.9k), but surely some corners had to be cut, right? Well, the folks of MIUI have posted a full teardown of Xiaomi’s robot vacuum, and it’s certainly nice to see that the Chinese manufacturer didn’t skimp on quality. Check out some of the teardown photos.

I’ve seen disassembled Chinese budget electronics before and it’s rarely been pretty, so it’s nice to see the Mi Robot Vacuum is so well put together. The PCB board and internal wiring in particular look well laid out and clean. For the full gallery, check out the post on MIUI.

Unfortunately, it’s not likely that we’ll see the Mi Robot Vacuum anytime soon. This isn’t anything new for Xiaomi’s PH fans. Quite frankly, it’s been a while since Xiaomi Philippines has launched anything. If we do see it, it will likely be through a gray market seller.
