Leica X-U is a Super-expensive Ruggedized Camera

Leica X-U

Leica makes some of the most gorgeous cameras around, but they can be downright delicate. Hopefully, that will change with the Leica X-U, a stylish, ruggedized camera that’s more compact than any other ruggedized camera out there. The X-U is dustproof thanks to its sealed body and waterproof, allowing it to be submerged up to 49 feet. And to ensure it earns its place in the ruggedized category of cameras, it’s also shockproof.

The Leica X-U has a 16mp APS-C sensor paired with a 23mm (35mm equivalent), f/1.7 fixed prime lens with a 3 inch LCD to frame and preview your shots. It isn’t the best video solution as it can only shoot 720p and 1080p in 30fps, but its ISO sensitivity can reach up to 12,500.

As sleek and compact as it is, the Leica X-U will cost you a pretty penny. If you’re even thinking of shelling out money for it, you’ll need to cough up 2,950 big ones. Dollars.
