[Update 6/15/2013 @ 7:02]

Cherry Mobile released another teaser pic of what could turn out to be the Fusion Wave. This time, it’s a render of the front and back of the device, but that’s not all. It also reveals a number of things like the clock speed of the CPU, the specific GPU and even the Antutu benchmark score. Take a look below.

We now know that the quad core Samsung Exynos chipset that will be powering the Cherry Mobile Fusion Wave will be clocked at 1.4GHz. It will also feature a Mali-400 GPU, although it’s still not clear if it’s the dual core or quad core version. Regardless, at least we know that the chipset is powerful enough to score a 14,865 in Antutu, a popular benchmarking tool for gauging the overall performance of Android devices.

To put things in perspective, the HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X HD score in the low 14,000s, while the Samsung Galaxy S3 scores somewhere near the low 16,000s. When compared to other locally branded quad core devices, this is the best score on a stock ROM I’ve ever seen. No other details have been revealed yet except that the Fusion Wave, if that’s what it’s going to be called, will be released some time in June. Stay tuned for more information!

[6/13/2013 @ 14:01] Looks like Cherry Mobile is at it again, teasing another new model on its Facebook page. The device in the teaser image appears to be in landscape mode, which leads me to believe that it’s a tablet. While the local phone brand didn’t specifically mention a specific name for this new device other than with a cryptic “The Wave is coming”. Check out the image below and check it out for yourselves.

Of course, what’s interesting about this new device is not that it’s another new tablet. Cherry Mobile already has a ton of those, ranging from the Fusion Bolt, Fusion Fire, Fusion Wind and a number of other budget tablets. No, what’s interesting is that little tidbit in the lower-right corner of the teaser image. If you can’t see it clearly, I’ve enhanced it for you guys for a better look.

Samsung Exynos Teaser

Yep, ladies and gentlemen, the Cherry Mobile Fusion Wave (if that’s what they’re going to call it) will be powered by a Samsung Exynos processor. I don’t expect it to be the top of the line Exynos being used in the most current generation Galaxy S4, it should still be pretty fast. The most likely candidate is the Exynos 4412 quad since it is already being used on many budget tablets from Chinese OEMs like the Ramos W30 and Hyundai T7. Incidentally, that’s the same chipset being used in the Samsung Galaxy S3. Not bad, Cherry Mobile.

So if the Fusion Wave is going to use the quad core Exynos 4412, what else can we expect in terms of specs? Well, the Exynos 4412 is typically accompanied by a quad core Mali 400 MP2 GPU. The rest of the specs can only be guessed, but at this point, I would say I’m already excited about the Cherry Mobile Fusion Wave. I’ll keep you guys posted as soon as I have more details.

    1. Not sure if this will turn out to be a rebranded Ramos tab kasi may distributor na ng Ramos dito. Not sure nga lang if authorized sila or gray market importer lang. If Ramos nga to, lagot ang local importers kasi mapipilitan sila magbaba ng presyo para sumabay sa CM, which is a good thing.
