When it comes to keeping their upcoming smartphones under wraps, Cherry Mobile hasn’t had that much success as of late. Not that I’m complaining though, since it’s given their fans a peek of another smartphone the local brand plans to release: the Cherry Mobile Omega 3.
For just Php5,499, the Cherry Mobile Omega 3 gives you a 5.5 inch screen, 1.4GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage. You’re also getting a 13mp BSI rear-facing camera with LED flash and a 5mp front camera for taking selfies. The specific chipset used by the Omega 3 wasn’t identified, but based on the clock speed, Mali 450 GPU and price point, it’s likely to be the MT6592M.
For the price, it’s still going to be a very serviceable smartphone that can do it all. Just don’t expect it to be a world-beater like the Flare X.
