The Xiaomi Mi4i may have taken its sweet time getting here, but compared to Xiaomi’s other devices, it actually got its Philippine release much faster than expected. Budget-minded Pinoys now have access to a reasonably powerful smartphone with a 64-bit 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. The 5 inch screen on the other hand can be manufactured either by Sharp or JDI, with Full HD resolution.
Other specs include a 13mp camera on the back with a sensor that’s either from Sony or Samsung, and a 5mp shooter on the front. Thanks to the Snapdragon 615 SoC, you also get 4G/LTE support, as well as the full range of wireless connectivity options: WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
As it’s being touted as a more affordable flagship, the Xiami Mi4i doesn’t sport the same premium construction or look as the Mi3 and Mi4. Instead, you get something akin to the Android version of the iPhone 5c with a range of colorful shells to choose from.
The Mi4i will be initially sold with a price tag of Php9,799 on Lazada, which has been Xiaomi’s official online channel since the beginning. However, we will eventually get to see the Xiaomi Mi4i official offline stores as well, with a promise that they’ll be retaining that same pricing for those who’d rather see the phone in person first before buying.
