Cherry Mobile Fusion Wind Revealed in Back to School Promo

Fresh after the surprise release of the Omega HD 2.0, Cherry Mobile has sneakily revealed the Fusion Wind Android tablet that will be hitting retailer shelves pretty soon. The local phone brand actually revealed the existence of the Cherry Mobile Fusion Wind through a promo for the popular MF1 that they had posted on their Facebook page. Check it out below.

Once you scan the code using a QR code scanner on your smartphone, your browser will take you to a promo page at the official Cherry Mobile blog where you’ll find the MF1 being bundled as a freebie with the Fusion Wind. The tablet will be retailing for Php5,999 and will go on sale beginning June 5. It will continue to be bundled with the MF1 phone/hotspot until June 7.

The specs are pretty decent but not much has been revealed. All we know is that the Fusion Wind will have an 8 inch IPS display, 1.5GHz dual core processor, 1Gb RAM,  4Gb ROM and will run Jelly Bean 4.1 out of the box. It’s a WiFi-only tablet, which is fine considering the price. However it doesn’t appear to have Bluetooth. The Fusion Wind will also sport dual cameras (2mp rear, VGA front) and will have OTG USB support so it can read from your USB flash drives or possibly be used with a USB keyboard or mouse.

No news yet as to what OEM device this is, but there’s a good chance it might be sourced from Ainol since Cherry Mobile has been known to partner with them in the past. At Php5,999, the Fusion Wind looks to be a decent buy. It’s a great option who don’t want to spend that much on an Android tablet but want a bigger screen than the Fusion Bolt has to offer.

  1. Dual core lang? well i still hope that it can handle more than casual games w/o bothersome lags. also enough batt power to last half a day. But i love the fact that this is an inch more than the Bolt and bundled with MF1 (w/c i’m planning to buy). Sure hope you will buy this and post your review before the promo ends.
