Gionee GPad G5 Now Available Locally with Hexa-Core CPU at Php9,499

Gionee GPad G5

After the Elife E7, Elife S5.5, and Elife E7 Mini, Gionee is slowly starting to bring in their lower end models from their current lineup. Their most recent entry is the Gionee GPad G5, a monster of a phablet at 5.5 inches that just so happens to be one of the few locally available smartphones powered by the 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6591 hexa-core processor. In terms of performance, the MT6591 sits somewhere MediaTek’s higher end octa-core MT6592 and the entry-level quad core MT6582.

In addition to the nifty processor and gargantuan IPS display, the Gionee GPad G5 will also sport An 8mp rear-facing camera, 2mp front camera, and some pretty awesome Yamaha speakers. Of course, you’ll also get the usual HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS support. The GPad G5 will launch in the Philippines with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, however, the 2,400mAh battery is a bit of a disappointment considering the screen size. Still, if you’re looking for a very capable multimedia machine that can do double-duty as a PSP replacement, the Gionee GPad G5 is a pretty good option.
