Meizu MX5 Officially Launched Packing MediaTek’s Helio X10 Turbo Octa-core CPU!

Meizu MX5

The Meizu MX5 has just been officially launched, and thanks to its Helio X10 Turbo 8-core processor, PowerVR G6200 GPU, and 3GB RAM, it’s looking to be a really solid budget flagship. In addition to the solid chipset and RAM configuration, you also have a choice between 16, 32, or 64GB of storage to go with a 5.5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 20mp camera with a Sony IMX220 sensor and dual-tone LED flash with laser autofocus, a 5mp front cam, a 3150mAh battery with fast charging technology, and Meizu’s Flyme 4.5 UI running on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop.

In terms of design and construction, the MX5’s strength isn’t a huge departure from its predecessors, but does move toward a more premium build thanks to a gorgeous Super AMOLED screen and full metal jacket. This is different from the Meizu MX4, which featured an aluminum mid-section and plastic back cover. You’ll also notice the front hardware home button that gives it a Samsung Galaxy-esque look. The Meizu MX5 is also quite thin, measuring 7.6mm and weighing only 149 grams.

MediaTek chips aren’t the best you can get, but they do provide considerable performance for the money. These are some awesome specs that can be found under the iPhone-esque body. However, with the 16GB model to go for the rough equivalent of Php13k, the 32GB model at roughly Php14.5k and the 64GB model at Php17.4k, the Meizu MX5 might have trouble convincing the Philippine market to turn away from other budget brands that have established themselves here.
