MyPhone Uno Android One Smartphone Officially Priced at Php4,599

MyPhone Uno

Android One has finally reached the Philippines and MyPhone was one of the local brands tapped to bring it to the Filipino masses. Priced at Php4,599, the MyPhone Uno Android One smartphone is expected to hit shelves this Friday. This will allow budget-minded smartphone buyers to take advantage of Android software updates just shortly after they become available on Nexus devices without having to break the bank.

We already know what Cherry Mobile’s Android One offering is all about, so let’s take a look at the MyPhone Uno. The MyPhone Uno sports a 4.5 inch FWVGA screen and is driven by a 1.3GHz quad core processor. You also get 1GB RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which you can expand via micro SD up to 32GB. The MyPhone Uno’s imaging prowess is pretty ho-hum. You’re getting a 5mp rear camera and a 2mp front camera, which is serviceable but not great.

Of course, the real value of the MyPhone Uno is it’s ability to receive Android updates sooner than your typical smartphone. Like Google Play Edition devices, Android One is meant to deliver timely updates to more devices, specifically to lower cost phones. One downside of the MyPhone Uno itself though is that the Cherry Mobile One actually retails for less at Php3,999 and comes with more storage (8GB vs 4GB) and a free 8GB micro SD card to go with it.
