While many local brands are beginning to churn out smartphones with built-in digital TV, we’ve yet to see it pick up in international brands. The ASUS Zenfone Go TV looks to address this gap, making digital TV a key feature of this capable midrange smartphone. That means you’ll be able to view clear digital TV programming when they’re in range on the Zenfone Go TV’s large 5.5 inch HD screen.
As a smartphone though, the Zenfone Go TV is decent but not spectacular. You’re getting a Snapdragon 400 SoC along with 2GB RAM and a choice between 16GB and 32GB storage. The laser-enabled 13mp rear camera, 4G LTE, and sizable 3,000mAh battery are nice additions though.
Unfortunately, it’s only been announced in Taiwan for now, but considering DTV smartphones are beginning to pick up here, it wouldn’t be surprising if the ASUS Zenfone Go TV did manage to make it here in a few months.
