At the moment, none of the local brands have any offerings with 4GB of RAM. The first one to supposedly hit the market hasn’t been heard from since its official launch. So it’s quite possible that the Cloudfone Next could be the first 4GB RAM smartphone from a local brand. That is, if they’re fast enough.
Regardless of who hits the local market first though, the Cloudfone Next is certainly worth waiting for. It packs a 5.2 inch Full HD OGS screen and is driven by a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon SoC. Aside from the aforementioned 4GB RAM, it also packs a whopping 32GB of internal storage.
Not bad for a smartphone that’s gunning for a price tag that’s less than Php10k. Unfortunately, no specific pricing has been announced as of yet, and Cloudfone still doesn’t have a launch date for the Next either, so the Cherry Mobile M1 can still beat it to the market. Cloudfone will be bundling it with a bunch of yet-to-be-revealed freebies though, so that might be worth waiting for as well.
