Our local brands are really pushing the boundaries of what you can get for little more than a couple of grand. The newly launched Firefly Mobile GT50 is one of the most feature-packed sub-Php3k smartphones yet, offering a 5 inch IPS screen, quad core processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. Surprisingly enough, even the 2,300mAh battery is pretty serviceable.
Of course, some specs are expected to suffer due to the low price point. Firefly Mobile hasn’t specified the screen’s resolution yet, but there’s a good chance it’ll only be a qHD screen. Connectivity will be limited up to 3G/HSPA+ and you’ll only get a 5mp/2mp camera configuration. Still, for just Php2,699, the Firefly Mobile GT50 packs some decent specs and even runs Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box.
