Meizu M3 Gets Upgraded Processor and Other Spec Improvements, Keeps Affordable Pricing

Meizu M3

Meizu’s entry-level M2 was a pretty sweet deal when it first came out. Now though, it’s in need of an upgrade, and the newly announced Meizu M3 certainly looks up to par. Despite retaining its affordable price tag, it’s improved upon many of the specs to deliver a more powerful smartphone to budget-minded consumers.

At first glance, it’s almost indistinguishable from its predecessor, the M2. It’s still a 5 inch HD handset coming in the same assortment of color options. However, it’s gotten a sweet improvement in the SoC department, ditching the MediaTek MT6735 for the beefier MT6750. Aside from the speed boost, the Meizu M3 benefits from the new SoC thanks to wider network support for LTE bands. The battery capacity also gets a much-appreciated bump up to 2,870mAh from 2,500mAh.

As before, you’ll still get the same 13mp/5mp camera configuration, as well as the same 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB RAM and storage options. The 2GB/16GB variant is priced at just 599 yuan (about Php4.3k) while the 3GB/32GB version is just 799 yuan (about Php5.8k). Hopefully, the local SRP won’t stray too far from these figures once the Meizu M3 eventually gets here.
