Oppo F5 Youth Gets its Local Launch, Priced at Php13,990

Back when the Oppo F5 was launched, there were rumors that there would be a total of 3 variants. Only 2 were actually revealed locally, so where was the 3rd one? Apparently, it took its sweet time getting here. But as they say, better late than never and we now have the Oppo F5 Youth making its local debut as well.

So what’s the difference between the Oppo F5 Youth and the standard model? The Youth variant comes with slightly less RAM and a lower megapixel count on its front camera. That means you’re down to 3GB RAM and a 16mp front shooter, versus the standard 4GB RAM and 20mp shooter. Still, that’s not much of a downgrade and you’re still getting Oppo’s touted AI Beauty Recognition Technology that’s supposedly better than the typical beautification mode that most modern smartphones come with. It’s also more affordable at Php13,990 and is now available nationwide.

Back when I started MobileTechPinoy in 2012, phablets weren't a thing yet. I enjoyed the stares I got from iPhone owners whenever I whipped out my Samsung Galaxy Note at the time. I'm much more budget-conscious these days though and am perfectly fine with using phones from any of our locally brands.
