When one of our local phone brands announces a new entry level smartphone, it isn’t going to turn a lot of heads. However, when it launches what could potentially be the most affordable smartphone with a fingerprint sensor, now they’re going to catch some attention. That’s exactly what the recently announced SKK Aura Edge could be as official renders show it sporting what appears to be a fingerprint sensor on the back. And with an introductory price tag of just Php1,999, you’re getting a fairly serviceable smartphone even without the fingerprint scanner!
Just don’t expect to be blown away, of course. The SKK Aura Edge Sports a 5 inch qHD display, 1.3GHz quad core processor, and 4GB of internal storage. The RAM hasn’t been revealed yet, but at this price point, it’s likely to be just 512MB. It also comes equipped with 5mp/2mp cameras, a 2,500mAh battery, and Lollipop 5.1 out of the box.
Considering the price, I seriously doubt the SKK Aura Edge actually comes with its own fingerprint sensor. Still, I’d love to be surprised.
