Vivo Y69 Launched in India as a Selfie-oriented Midranger

I’ve never been a fan of Vivo’s naming conventions, but there’s no doubt they have a great lineup of smartphones geared towards the selfie craze. The new Vivo Y69 that was just launched in India is no different, offering a 16mp front camera with a group selfie feature. The 13mp rear camera may have a lower resolution, but it has a number of cool modes such as Bokeh and Live Photo.

Vivo Y69 Specs

  • 5.5″ HD IPS display (720 x 1280 resolution, 267ppi), protected by Gorilla Glass 3
  • MediaTek MT6750 SoC
    • 1.5GHz octa-core processor
    • Mali 860 MP2 GPU
  • Android 7.0 Nougat
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB internal storage, expandable via microSD (up to 256GB)
  • 13mp AF rear camera, LED flash, f/2.2 aperture
  • 16mp front camera, f/2.0 aperture
  • Up to 4G/LTE Cat 6
  • WiFi a/b/g/n
  • Bluetooth
  • GPS, GLONASS, Beidu, Galileo,
  • Price: INR14990 (about Php12k as of writing)

While it doesn’t have dual cameras like many of today’s new phones are coming out with, the Vivo Y69’s capable selfie camera might be enough to appeal to the Philippine market. It shouldn’t take long for us to see it rolled out locally considering their strong presence in the country.

Back when I started MobileTechPinoy in 2012, phablets weren't a thing yet. I enjoyed the stares I got from iPhone owners whenever I whipped out my Samsung Galaxy Note at the time. I'm much more budget-conscious these days though and am perfectly fine with using phones from any of our locally brands.
