ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 is a Sleek Multimedia Tablet Meant to Impress

ASUS ZenPad 3S 10

ASUS is revealing a slew of devices at IFA 2016 in Berlin, and thankfully, tablet lovers are getting some love as well. The ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 is a sleek new Android tablet that tries to differentiate itself from others through its multimedia prowess. Sure, its 9.7 inch QXGA screen is gorgeous and 5.8mm thick body is pretty sleek, but it’s so much more than just a sexy tablet.

The ZenPad 3S 10 features a number of technologies under the ASUS VisualMaster suite of visual enhancements to improve the overall media consumption experience. Tru2Life technology optimizes each pixel before it’s reproduced for better contrast. The TruVivid display is essentially a high quality IPS panel with great resolution, pixel density, and color reproduction. Finally, the Bluelight filter helps reduce the strain on your eyes from prolonged usage.

On the audio side of things, The ZenPad 3S 10 comes with dual five-magnet speakers driven by an NXP Smart AMP for high volume playback without distortion. It also supports certified High Resolution Audio output, not to mention DTS Headphone:X for virtual 7.1 surround sound playback directly into your ears.

The rest of the specs are fairly decent. The 2.1GHz MediaTek MT8176 hexa-core processor and its PowerVR GX6250 GPU is a bit of a letdown in terms of raw power, but should still drive most applications just fine. Gaming may be a bit held back though since the high resolution would actually hold back frame rates. Of course, the 4GB/32GB base configuration is nothing to sneeze at. And there’s a 64GB storage option as well.

There’s no news on pricing and availability yet, but that should soon change as ASUS is pretty good at bringing their products into the Philippines in a timely manner.

Back when I started MobileTechPinoy in 2012, phablets weren't a thing yet. I enjoyed the stares I got from iPhone owners whenever I whipped out my Samsung Galaxy Note at the time. I'm much more budget-conscious these days though and am perfectly fine with using phones from any of our locally brands.
