The Teclast X89 Kindow is an eBook-oriented Tablet You Didn’t Know You Wanted

Most Android tablets that aren’t imitating the iPad usually come in 16:9 aspect ratio, but if you prefer reading eBooks and digital magazines, the 4:3 aspect ratio is actually better. Interestingly enough, the Teclast X89 Kindow seems to have been made with this in mind. In fact, it’s even being marketed more as an eBook reader than an all around tablet.

The Samsung-made screen measures 7.85 inches across with a resolution of 1440 x 1080. This results in a reasonably sharp display with a pixel density of 229ppi. The body is thin and lightweight too, measuring just 8.9mm and weighing 318g. The specs are decent, but pedestrian though. You’re getting last year’s Z3735F Bay Trail CPU, 2GB RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. Interestingly, it can either come with Lollipop 5.1 or a dual boot option with both Android and Windows. The battery is a bit of a disappointment though as it’s rated at just 3,500mAh.

The Teclast X89 Kindow is a pretty neat choice if eBooks, magazines and comics are more your thing. It hasn’t been officially released yet and it’s not likely to be sold locally. However, international sellers are already have it on pre-order for about $100 or Php4.6k.
