Huawei Glory 4 to Feature MediaTek MT6592 Octa Core CPU According to Leak

Some of you may have missed it, but Huawei’s CEO Richard Yu teased one of their upcoming smartphones, the highly anticipated Huawei Glory 4. One of the reasons it’s a phone to look out for is because it will be one of the first to feature MediaTek‘s MT6592 SoC with an octa core CPU. While MediaTek is widely known for manufacturing SoCs for low to midrange phones, this particular chip is set to make a mark not just because it’s an octa core processor, but because it’s the first such processor capable of utilizing all 8 cores at once.

Curious as to what the rest of the specs are? Fortunately enough, a leak out of China has revealed exactly what the Huawei Glory 4 will be shipping with under the hood. We already know it will rock the 1.7GHz MT6592 SoC, but in addition to that, it will also sport a 720p HD screen of unspecified size, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage space, a 13mp rear camera and 5mp front camera. It will also run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box with Huawei’s Emotion UI 2.0 on top.

It’s curious that Huawei would decide to go with an HD screen rather than a Full HD screen, but keep in mind that the leaked specs are to be taken with a grain of salt. Still, it’s looking like a pretty high end looking device. No word when this will start selling or for how much. We’ll just have to wait for Huawei Philippines’ official announcement when the Glory 4 eventually does come to our shores.
