MiPad Launched in India, Could the Philippines be Next?

MiPad

For a while I had been salivating over the MiPad, a high end Android tablet with a design that combines the looks of the iPad Mini and iPhone 5c running Android instead of iOS. Unfortunately, it’s taken its sweet time coming here and I’ve just about moved on, thinking of maybe picking up something else instead. Then Xiaomi suddenly decides to sell the MiPad in India at a sweet price of 12,999INR or roughly Php9.1k and they’ve got my hopes all up again. Go figure.

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who’s been frustrated at the uber long delay that it’s taking for the MiPad to get here. After all, it’s been some time since Mi Philippines refreshed their local product lineup. We’ve had the Mi 3 and Redmi 1s for ages now, not to mention the Mi In-ear Headset and the extremely popular Mi Power Banks. Still, the MiPad isn’t the only Xiaomi product that has yet to reach our shores. We haven’t seen the Redmi Note yet, and there’s a good chance we might not see it at all.

Still, the MiPad has a good shot of making it here along with the Redmi 2, I’m told. So is the MiPad going to be you’re next tablet purchase? If they manage to bring it under Php10k, it’s certainly going to be mine 🙂
