Nokia N1: a 7.9 Inch Lollipop-Running Android Tablet for Just $249!

Nokia N1

Holy crap, Nokia’s back! If this wasn’t the direction I was hoping the Finnish company would take, I don’t know what is. They’ve finally unveiled a proper Android device in the Nokia N1 and it’s gorgeous!

The Nokia N1 features a 7.9 inch 1536 x 2048 IPS display with an impressive pixel density of 324ppi. In addition to the gorgeous display, the Nokia N1 also has a rockin’ body crafted from a single piece of anodized aluminum. The best part of it all? It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Nokia’s Z Launcher running on top, no less!

Underneath the iPad Mini-esque chassis beats the heart of a 2.4GHz Intel Atom Z3580 quad core processor. There’s also 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Handling imaging responsibilities is an 8mp camera at the back and a 5mp shooter in front. Other specs include a reversible USB Type C port and a 5,300mAh battery.

An interesting thing to note is that Nokia hasn’t actually been all that involved with the N1. They’ve actually licensed the Nokia brand to OEM partner Foxconn, who will be handling the engineering, marketing and sales for the N1. And in case you forgot who Foxconn was, they’re also the ones responsible for manufacturing iPhones and iPads for Apple.
