Phoenix WinTab 8: The Perfect Size to Get Things Done on the Go?

Phoenix WinTab 8

When you buy a Windows tablet, it’s usually to get things done. The recently launched WinTab 10 has a large screen and has a separately purchased keyboard cover accessory, but may be too large to be convenient on your everyday commute. The WinTab 7 on the other hand is extremely portable, but leaves a lot to be desired, especially on Windows 8.1. This is why I think that the Phoenix WinTab 8 is the perfect compromise, size-wise.

Phoenix WinTab 8 Profile

The WinTab 8 features an 8 inch WXGA HD IPS display that offers much more room to work with while keeping the size down that it’s still portable. Under the hood beats the heart of Intel’s Bay Trail Z3735 quad core CPU along with 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There’s also a couple of 2mp cameras on the front and back of the device to handle imaging responsibilities. Finally, the WinTab 8 is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and runs Windows 8.1 out of the box.

At just Php6,999, the Phoenix WinTab 8 is Php1k more affordable than the Cherry Mobile Alpha Play, which shares the same processor, RAM and storage configuration. Although the Alpha Play has the better camera setup (5mp BSI rear, 2mp front), the WinTab 8 comes with a higher capacity 5,000mAh battery vs the Alpha Play’s 3,500mAh rating.
