HTC One S and Desire C to be Launched Today in the Philippines

Digital Walker and YugaTech both confirmed the launch of the HTC One S and Desire C later today on their respective Facebook pages. Digital Walker is a popular gadget store in the Philippines that is known for carrying the latest and greatest tech from various brands. They were one of the first to launch with the unlocked version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 so if there’s a launch going on, they’re one of the first to know. YugaTech on the other hand is one of the most popular local tech blogs and is one of the best sources for the freshest insider tech news.

HTC One S

HTC One S

The HTC One S is one of the more powerful dual core phones out there and even beat the quad core HTC One X in some benchmarks. Aside from the dual core 1.5Ghz Krait processor, it also sports a 4.3″ 540 x 960 SUPERAMOLED screen,  an Adreno 225 GPU to handle graphics, 1Gb of RAM, and 16Gb of built-in storage. What I don’t like about it is the non-user removable battery and the fact it doesn’t support expandable storage options like a MicroSD card slot. Still, it’s one of the sexier phones out there, and if you can’t quite afford the HTC One X or don’t see the practicality in quad core CPUs at the moment, the HTC One S is for you.

HTC Desire C

HTC Desire C

The HTC Desire C doesn’t even come close to the One S in terms of performance, however it wasn’t intended to. This looks to be a budget phone that will likely compete against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Y and LG L3, or possibly more against the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2. The good news is it comes with ICS. The bad news is it only sports a 600Mhz ARMv6 CPU. An AGING CPU at that. Still, there’s a lot to like about the little bugger. It’s got a larger 3.5″ 320 x 480 screen, which is good for 165 ppi. It’s got a higher quality 5mp rear autofocus camera (no front-facing camera though). It’s also got Beats Audio software built in. Beats Audio isn’t ideal for all music genres, but if the music you like to listen to has any sort of bass in it, it will definitely benefit from the boost that Beats Audio provides. Don’t expect a Beats branded headset though. Just the regular HTC headset. Hey, I told you it was a budget handset.
