So despite the cancellation of the October 29 Google event because of Sandy, Google still went ahead and unveiled what they had in store. While most people are more excited over the Nexus 4 and the possibility of owning it for just $299 for the unlocked model, other people like me just can’t get enough of the Nexus 10. If you aren’t yet aware, the Samsung-made Nexus 10 sports a 10.1″ PLS screen with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 and an eye-bleedingly sharp 300PPI. Just for comparison’s sake, the 3rd and 4th generation iPads have a PPI of 249, which was the industry benchmark before the Nexus 10 came along.
Of course, these are probably all just numbers to the average consumer. What does 300PPI look like in real life? Romain Guy posted some shots of the Nexus 10 on Google+ that he took with his DSLR. These aren’t computer renderings that exaggerate the capabilities of the device, and take note that the guy’s primary trade is working at Google as an Android Software Engineer and that photography is just his hobby. Still, he is an enthusiast, and the shots are quite impressive in that they show just how beautiful and capable the screen is. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the shots below.
