Fujifilm FinePix XP90 is One Tough Point-and-Shoot

Fujifilm FinePix XP90

Point-and-shoot cameras may be going the way of the dodo bird thanks to smartphones, but there’s still a place for tough life-proof cameras that you can take anywhere. Sure, there are action cameras, but the Fujifilm FinePix XP90 offers the control and functionality of a point-and-shoot while offering water and shock-proofing similar to GoPros or the Cherry Mobile Action Cam.

The XP90 is waterproof up to 50 feet, shockproof from drops of up to 6 feet high, and freezeproof to -10 degrees Celsius. It features the same 16.4mp 1/2.3 inch CMOS sensor as its predecessor, the XP80, even sharing the same 5x optical zoom and 28mm wide-angle lens. The screen is larger though at 3 inches vs 2.7 on the XP80.

Aside from taking 16.4mp images, the FinePix XP90 can also record video in Full HD at up to 60fps, as well as slow motion standard definition videos (480p) and 360 degree panoramas. Interested? The price tag has been announced at $230, which as of writing is roughly Php11k after straight conversion.
