I was fortunate enough to have been invited to the local launch of the ASUS Transformer Book Flip and Transformer Book T100 Multi-color. While the launch didn’t go as smoothly as planned (the venue actually lost power for the entire thing, lol) we were still treated to some awesome new consumer tech.

Some of you may already be familiar with the original Transformer Book T100 that arrived on our shores almost a year ago. Well, the newly refreshed Transformer Book T100 Multi-color obviously gives you more variety in terms of color variants, but that doesn’t mean it’s the same old T100 you’ll be getting in the box. The new Transformer Book T100 Multi-color also happens to hide a more capable processor under the hood. And you’re still getting the same ability to take this Windows-powered tablet and transform it into a laptop by docking it into a keyboard dock. All for the same price of Php23,999!

While the Transformer Book T100 might interest more people just for its portability and dual functionality, the newly announced Transformer Book Flip allows for even more usage modes and comes in multiple configurations depending on what you need.

You have a choice between a 14 or 15 inch screen; Core i3, i5 and i7 processors, among other things. Not only that, but it also allows you use it in various modes, similar to the Lenovo Yoga series. The most affordable Core i3 variant with a 13.3 inch HD IPS display, 4GB RAM and a 500GB HDD retails for a surprisingly easy on the budget Php26,995. Then there’s the Core i5 variant with the 13.3 inch HD IPS display, 4GB RAM and a 500GB HDD for Php39,995. If you’re looking for more power under the hood, not to mention more screen real estate, there’s the Core i7 variant with a 15.6 inch HD IPS display, 8GB RAM and 1TB HDD, which will burn a Php49,995-sized hole in your pocket.

The Core i3 and i7 variants are already available in ASUS concept stores and retail partners. However, you’ll have to wait a bit for the Core i5 variant, which will arrive mid-September.
