MobileTechPinoy’s Top 5 TV Series on iFlix!

While there are a few video on demand streaming services out there, iFlix has been my choice for some time now for several reasons. For one thing, I’ve been a longtime PLDT subscriber, and no, that’t not a paid statement. Another, is it’s supported by the Roku Powered TVolution and I can stream right from my TV. Also, all their videos are cached locally on Philippine servers. So if there;s ever another undersea cable issue, you’ll still be able to enjoy streaming at full speed.

The best thing about iFlix though is that I just logged in and found out that PLDT is giving their subscribers free access to iFlix all the way until April 2018! No strings!

So what are the best TV series to binge on while I’ve got free iFlix? Here are my Top 5 picks!

5. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has had a lot of success over the years, but I still need my Marvel fix in between movies. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a convenient fix, beginning right after the events of the first Avengers movie. It may have stumbled out of the gate when it first began, but its 4th and latest season with Ghost Rider is said to be its best to date.

4. Arrow

DC’s own cinematic universe has only just started picking up steam thanks to Wonder Woman and the upcoming Justice League movie, but their TV series are doing just fine. Arrow follows the story of Oliver Queen, a billionaire playboy who after being stranded on a hostile island for 5 years, returns home to fight crime as a secret vigilante. His weapon of choice? A bow and arrow of course. Season 5 is one of its stronger seasons as Arrow forms a new team to back him up. Supergirl and Flash also make an appearance in Episode 8 as part of a crossover event!

3. The Flash

Along with Arrow, The Flash is another successful TV series based on a DC superhero. Barry Allen is a Central City police forensic scientist who gains his powers after an experiment in his lab involving a massive particle accelerator results in him being struck by lightning and putting him in a coma. Barry doesn’t wake up until 9 months later, where he discovers he can move at superhuman speeds. Unfortunately, he’s not the only one who gained powers from the accident, and many of them are using their powers for evil.

2. The Big Bang Theory

If there was ever a love letter for nerds written in the form of a sitcom, The Big Bang Theory is it. It’s a well-written comedy with the humor scale ranging from slapstick to seriously quick wit. The great thing is, it isn’t just for nerds. Just about anyone can sit down and enjoy this series. Sure, there are criticisms that it can become formulaic and stereotypical at times, but to me, it’s still one of the best shows about nerds you could ever watch.

1. Friends

Rachel, Chandler, Joey, Phoebe, Monica, and Ross were #SquadGoals well before there was #SquadGoals. The series follows the lives of a group of 20-somethings go through everyday life and everything it has to offer: family problems, career problems, pet problems, and of course, love problems. After 10 seasons, they pretty much love each other like family. And all 10 seasons are on iFlix!
