Invites have already started going out for a Cherry Mobile product launch on September 29. However, the local phone brand has also started selling the new Cherry Mobile MAIA Tab and MAIA Smart Tab today at a store opening and meet-and-greet event with their newest endorser, Janela Salvador. Thanks to this event, we now know what kind of specs the upcoming devices will be rocking.
The Cherry Mobile MAIA Smart Tab already gave us a clue that it would be a dual-boot devices, allowing users to switch between Android 4.4 KitKat and Windows 8.1. Thanks to today’s event though, we also know that it sports an 8 inch screen and runs on a Intel quad core processor. It also comes with 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, and dual 5mp/2mp cameras. The MAIA Smart Tab is powered by a 3,800mAh battery and will retail for just Php4,999.
In addition to the Smart Tab, the smaller and more affordable MAIA Tab went on sale today. Unlike the MAIA Smart Tab, the Cherry Mobile MAIA Tab will only run Android 4.4 KitKat. It will also sport a smaller 7 inch display and will have a 1GHz Intel Atom X3 processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB of storage. It will only come with a 2,800mAh battery and will retail for just Php2,999.
Unfortunately, there aren’t any official renders out yet aside from the one that appeared on the promotional materials for the meet-and-greet event. Hopefully, Cherry Mobile will come out with them soon. At the very least, we’ll only have to wait until the 29th to get a real good look at the two tablets.
