It may not be too long until we see the fruits of Huawei and Leica’s collaboration to bring better imaging capabilities to the smartphone maker’s cameras. Thanks to some recent leaks, the Huawei P9 has been officially revealed with a dual 12mp camera setup on the back that is expected to sport Leica lenses. While the dual rear camera setup isn’t new to Huawei, this is the first time we’ll be seeing it on the P-series.
The Huawei P9 is close to an official launch and is expected to come out in the first half of 2016. There will potentially be four variants, including the standard version with a 5.2 inch screen, one with an even larger screen, and another with better specs. Naturally, the specs between them may vary, but it’s likely that we’ll see one or more variants with the HiSilicon Kirin 950 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, and 3,900mAh battery.
