LG G3 Specs Revealed in Small Leak

LG G2

While the LG G2 has only been in the market for a few short months, there’s already speculation about its successor. The upcoming flagship will likely be called the LG G3, which is the natural progression in the G series naming scheme. However in addition to that, we also have a few key specs on the upcoming phone thanks to a leak that was published by ZDNet Korea.

Citing inside sources, ZDNet Korea says that the LG G3 will feature a display with QHD resolution. Not to be confused with qHD (quarter HD), which only has 540 x 960 pixels, QHD stands for Quad HD and has a whopping 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. There’s no clue as to what the screen size will actually be, but LG revealed a new 5.5 inch QHD screen last August that it might likely use in its next flagship. This could mean that the LG G3 will sport a 5.5 inch QHD screen when it comes out.

There is also a possibility that the LG G3 will be powered by the Korean manufacturer’s own LG Odin chipset. There isn’t much known about the Odin chips, but earlier in the year, LG licensed ARM’s 64-bit capable Cortex-A50 series processors. So while we don’t know anything about clock speeds or cores, it would make sense that the Odin processors should be 64-bit capable as well.

Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long for the LG G3 to get here. The LG G2 was widely regarded among tech blogs as one of the top Android smartphones to beat, besting even the Galaxy S4. However because of its late release, it hasn’t had as much impact on LG’s bottom line as the S4 has with Samsung. It’s better to wait and see though.
