I’ve always found it puzzling that Google hasn’t released an 8 inch Nexus tablet yet. I’m sure there are people who find the Nexus 7’s screen to be too small for some things while the Nexus 10’s weight can be too cumbersome to carry around for others. A Nexus 8 would make perfect sense wouldn’t it?
Well, it appears that Google might actually be in the works with the Nexus 8 as evidenced by the sighting of an unrecognized tablet on Google’s own Android KitKat page. The tablet appears to be smaller than the Nexus 10 but the bezels of the device are a bit different for it to be the Nexus 7. Whereas the Nexus 7’s bezels are only narrow on the sides but thicker at the top and bottom, the tablet in question only has a thick lower bezel while the top and side bezels are all thinner in comparison.
The device also appears to be running Android 4.4 KitKat. Of course, it could just be a Photoshop overlay as many manufacturers are prone to do. Still, a Nexus 8 would be pretty exciting, especially if it’s as comparatively affordable as the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.
