Lenovo A269i: A Dirt Cheap 3.5″ Android Smartphone that Covers the Basics

Just because the local brands have made a name for themselves with inexpensive dual SIM handsets doesn’t mean that established brands like Lenovo can’t get in on the fun. Just ask the Lenovo A269i that was recently released in the Philippine market with a dirt cheap price tag of Php2,799. It’s a little bugger of a smartphone designed to handle the basics and little else.

Lenovo A269i Spec Sheet

The Lenovo A269i features a 3.5 inch HVGA screen and is powered by a 1GHz dual core CPU coupled with 256MB RAM and 512MB internal memory. While some similarly-specced phones from local brands are force-fed Jelly Bean or Ice Cream Sandwich, the diminutive A269i runs Gingerbread 2.3. While some might scoff at the outdated OS, I think it’s fine on those specs and would operate much more smoothly than higher versions of Android would.

Looking to upgrade to your first smartphone? The Lenovo A269i is a great phone to start with and should already be available on retailer shelves.
