Cherry Mobile Apollo Now On Sale at SM North EDSA!

In case you missed it, there had been a leak of several upcoming phones that are due out in Q4 (October-December) of this year. One such phone was the Cherry Mobile Apollo, which was rumored to sport a 4.5 inch HD screen. If the rumors were true, that would give the Apollo one of the highest pixel densities on any screen from a locally branded smartphone.

Well, it seems that those rumors can be laid to rest now that Cherry Mobile SM North EDSA has announced that the Apollo is official and is now on sale. However, keep in mind that it’s only currently available at the SM North EDSA concept store. If you’re looking to get the Apollo anywhere else, you’re probably going to have to wait a week or two.

So now that it’s official, what kind of specs is the Cherry Mobile Apollo rocking? As mentioned, the Apollo sports a 4.5 HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and pixel density of 326ppi. That makes it one of the the sharpest screens available on any local phone and is as clear as the iPhone 5S. However, it wasn’t specified whether it was an IPS display, or any other display technology.

In addition, the Cherry Mobile Apollo comes with a 1.2GHz quad core processor, 1GB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. Imaging is handled by a 12mp autofocus rear-facing camera with flash and a 5mp front camera. Connectivity options include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS. If you’re looking to pick one up, you can get it for an SRP of Php6,999.
