A while back, I was able to attend the launch event for the Lenovo IdeaPad Z400 and Z500 here in the Philippines. I was impressed at how Lenovo managed to make them 25% slimmer than regular laptops while still managing to retail starting Php29,999. Not bad if you want a sleek design that doesn’t compromise on performance while staying under budget.
Now it seems that Lenovo is kicking things off by giving laptop buyers even more incentive to choose these as your next laptop purchase. Basically, if you buy any variant of the Z400 or Z500, you get the Lenovo N3903A wireless mouse, M0620 wired laptop speakers, and the P720 wired headset. This is certainly a great opportunity to save on accessories you would probably get after buying a laptop anyway.
The 14 inch Lenovo IdeaPad Z400 starts at Php29,999 for the Core i3 model. You also have the option to go all the way up to a Core i7 obviously by paying more. On the other hand, the 15 inch Z500 starts at Php37,995 for the Core i5 model. What’s great about them is that they don’t compromise on ports despite being much slimmer than a typical laptop in the same price range. Also, these aren’t ULV processors that we’re talking about. These latest in the IdeaPad Z Series are powered by standard voltage 3rd generation Intel Core processors so you won’t get that typical performance trade-off that is common on Ultrabooks.
These are just for the non-touch models, and if you prefer the touchscreen variants to take full advantage of the Windows 8 environment, you guys are going to have to wait until some time in April for when they get here. For now, you guys are just going to have to make do with the non-touch models. The promo is good until March 31, 2013 so just head on over to a participating Lenovo reseller near you.
