Huawei P8 Max

There’s no denying Huaweu makes some of the more elegant flagship smartphones out there, but how well does that elegance scale? Apparently, quite well if the Huawei P8 Max is any indication. The P8 Max is easily one of the largest phablets out there, with a screen measuring 6.8 inches across. However, despite that, it still retains the size and usability of a smartphone, albeit a really large one.

The Huawei P8 Max’s super-sized 6.8 inch screen features a resolution of 1080 x 1920, or Full HD. Although I’ve owned a few phablets of my own, I would still carry around a separate tablet because I still found the larger screen better when reading things like longer articles, ebooks, and manga. However, the P8 Max completely eliminates the need for a separate tablet, allowing you to enjoy a wide range of media in full detail without ever having to zoom in.

The P8 Max is powered by Huawei’s own in-hose developed Kirin 935 processor. It’s an octa-core chip, enabling parallel processing for apps that support it. Coupled with 3GB RAM, the device easily becomes a multitasking machine. You also won’t find any shortage of storage as the device already comes with 64GB built-in, as well as the option to expand it via microSD supporting cards of up to 64GB capacities.

The Huawei P8 Max isn’t yet available in the Philippines despite having previously getting a May release date. It’s already September, so it may be safe to assume that Huawei has nixed its official plans of bringing it here, but if you still can’t wait to get your hands on it, some international online stores such as Gearbest are offering it at a discount. Currently, it’s available on their site for $585.85, but if you use the coupon code “P8MAX”, you can get it at a discounted price of $495.89. Pretty sweet deal!

Back when I started MobileTechPinoy in 2012, phablets weren't a thing yet. I enjoyed the stares I got from iPhone owners whenever I whipped out my Samsung Galaxy Note at the time. I'm much more budget-conscious these days though and am perfectly fine with using phones from any of our locally brands.
