Get the Meizu M2 for Just $127.99

Meizu M2

Although the Meizu M2 Note has already made its way here thanks to importers like Novo7 Tech, its smaller sibling, the Meizu M2 has yet to be sold here in any capacity. It’s a shame really, as the Meizu M2 is a perfect mix of powerful specs in a trendy design at just the right size that would make it a hit among local smartphone buyers. Of course, if you don’t mind buying it internationally, you can easily have it shipped directly to you in just 2 to 3 weeks.

Screen

The Meizu M2 features a 5 inch HD IPS screen that’s fully laminated for an even sharper image with better color reproduction. The screen to body ratio is also quite high at 75.6, meaning you get more screen versus bezel.

MT6735

Under the hood, the Meizu M2 is armed with a 64-bit 1.3GHz MT6735 octa-core processor by MediaTek with a Mali 720 GPU. Although the SoC itself may not be a world-beater, it’s certainly capable of running virtually any app you throw at it, not to mention games thanks to the capable GPU. It also supports 64-bit computing and has 4G built in.

Gaming

Aiding the MediaTek chip is an acceptable 2GB of RAM for basic multitasking. More RAM helps keep more apps running in the background so they don’t have to be relaunched when switching between them and draining battery life unnecessarily. There’s also an adequate 16GB of internal storage for apps, media, and other files.

Camera

The Meizu M2 comes with a 13mp autofocus camera on the back with a Samsung CMOS sensor and f/2.2 aperture. A larger aperture size helps the sensor receive more light so more detail can be captured in every shot, particularly in low-light environments. On the other hand, the 5mp front camera is aided by FotoNation 2.0, which is your typical beautification software for selfies that most Chinese smartphones seem to be coming with these days.

Battery

As for the battery, it’s rated at 2,500mAh, which is adequate for the Mezu M2’s screen size. It promises 23 hours of 2G calls and as much as 680 hours on standby.

As mentioned, the Meizu M2 isn’t available in the country yet, but international online stores are already offering to ship it straight to your doorstep for just $127.99. Interested? Check them out here.

About The Author

Back when I started MobileTechPinoy in 2012, phablets weren't a thing yet. I enjoyed the stares I got from iPhone owners whenever I whipped out my Samsung Galaxy Note at the time. I'm much more budget-conscious these days though and am perfectly fine with using phones from any of our locally brands.
