While the first ASUS FonePad was a bit of a head-scratcher in that ASUS really wanted you to make calls on the darn thing, the FonePad FHD6 has a much more sensible size for making and taking calls without a headset. While the first FonePad had a 7 inch screen, the ASUS FonePad FHD6 has a more pocketable (relatively speaking) 6 inch IPS display. The resolution is also much better at 1080 x 1920.
Another great selling point of the ASUS FonePad FHD6 is that it comes with a stylus and software that has been optimized for pen input. If you find the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to be too expensive, the FonePad FHD6 would make a more affordable alternative that hardly compromises on performance. It only costs Php19,995, which is well below the Php35k+ selling price of the Note 3.
The rest of the specs are almost top of the shelf, but not quite entirely. The FonePad FHD6 features a 2GHz dual core Intel Z2580 processor, PowerVR SGX544 MP2 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There’s also an 8mp shooter on the back and a 1.2mp shooter in front to handle imaging responsibilities. The phablet runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and is powered by a 3,200mAh battery.
