The Cherry Mobile Flare 2.0 is a very competitively-specced phone considering its SRP of Php3,999. However, despite featuring a quad core processor at that price, it only has 512MB RAM, which is why some are willing to pay more for some of the newer Flare variants that have 1GB RAM. Well, if you still prefer the look and feel of the Flare 2.0 but want that 1GB RAM anyway, you’re in luck as the local brand has released an updated Cherry Mobile Flare 2.1 that comes with 1GB RAM.
Unlike some of the newer Flare variants that look nothing like the Flare 2.0, the Flare 2.1 is actually the same phone but with a boost to 1GB RAM. So you can expect all the same internals, including the Snapdragon 200 SoC, 4GB internal storage, 5mp autofocus camera and VGA front camera. What’s nice is that despite getting that boost to RAM, the Cherry Mobile Flare 2.1 still retains the Php3,999 price tag of its predecessor.
Cherry Mobile has just started teasing the Flare 2.1 on their Facebook page, but a post by their Cherry Mobile SM North EDSA branch shows it as being available. While it’s a little late for them to have refreshed the Flare 2.0, it’s better late than never. At least Pinoy consumers who are looking to save on their next smartphone have a nice set of options from the Flare lineup.
