If there’s an expression I would use to describe the Cloudfone Thrill 601FHD, it would easily be “bang-for-buck”, because that’s exactly what this newly revealed phablet is. Not only does it sport surprisingly specs you’d expect on a higher end smartphone, but its price tag is also awesomely affordable!
The Cloudfone Thrill 601FHD is a follow up to last year’s Thrill 600FHD and sports a similarly-sized 6 inch screen with Full HD resolution. The Thrill 601FHD is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core processor from MediaTek, although it hasn’t been specified which chipset it’s using. However, since Cloudfone’s website only specifies up to HSPA+ connectivity, it’s likely to be just the MT6592, which doesn’t support 4G/LTE.
The rest of the specs are pretty solid. You’ve got 8mp/13mp front and back cameras, as well as 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. However, it does cut a few corners here and there. For example, there doesn’t seem to be any Gorilla Glass or Dragontrail glass in use on the Cloudfone Thrill 601FHD, and the storage has been cut in half compared to its predecessor. Still, the Thrill 601FHD is still pretty awesome for its price at just Php9,999!
