If you’re looking for an affordable yet premium-looking smartphone this Christmas, you might not have to look any further than the DTC GT17 Jupiter. The GT17 Jupiter is a doppelganger for the HTC One, sharing virtually the same design and screen size. Naturally, the specs are a much watered down version seeing as you only have to shell out Php6,990 for this handset.
So what are you getting for the money? The DTC GT17 Jupiter features a qHD touchscreen display, giving it an acceptable pixel density of 234ppi. It isn’t specified whether it’s an IPS panel and at this price point, it could go either way. It’s powered by a 1.2GHz quad core CPU, coupled with 1GB RAM for acceptable multitasking. There’s also 4GB of internal storage, which is expandable via micro SD. As for imaging, you’re getting a 13mp rear-facing camera and 2mp front camera.
There’s no indication as to what processor is being used, although we can guess that it’s the MediaTek MT6589 or one of its variants. As of the moment, the two most popular SoCs (system-on-a-chip) in the local smartphone market are the MediaTek MT6589 and Snapdragon 200, the latter being unable to support effective camera resolutions beyond 8mp. If that’s the case, then the DTC GT17 could be a very attractive handset for the budget-minded.
As of the moment, it isn’t clear if the GT17 Jupiter is already in stores, but if you’re looking for a good deal on an elegant-looking phone, this one might be worth waiting for.

the whole performance of this phone is quite impressive as at this price
compare to other brand you can’t get similar specs. there is no doubt
that this mobile is taking a large market. I have also bought this a few
days ago and I am quite satisfied with this phone only defect of this
phone is camera. It is mentioned that it has 13mp rear camera but in
real, it works no more than 2 mp. even the picture size is less than
800kb. So if you are planning to buy this one and you are a camera lover
then this is not for you. you can even think that this mobile has no
camera.
