Say what you will about Gionee smartphones, but it can’t be denied that many of them have a distinguishing feature or two. With the Elife S5.5, it was its record-breaking thinness. With the Elife E7 Mini, it was its rotatable camera. Now, with the Gionee Marathon M3, it’s the massive 5,000mAh battery that will be enough to power your phone for 2 or 3 days or regular usage!
Of course, smartphones with massive batteries aren’t anything new. However, the Marathon M3 manages to cram such a huge battery without dramatically increasing the phone’s thickness. The Marathon M3’s back tapers toward the edges too, allowing for a much more comfortable grip.
Specs-wise, the Marathon M3 isn’t anything spectacular. The 5 inch HD display is decent and the 1.3GHz quad core processor from MediaTek along with the Mali 450 GPU should be able to handle most apps. No word on local pricing and availability yet, but we should expect it to hit Philippine shores soon.
