Lenovo S860: For When You Want Just a Little More Than Mid-range

Lenovo S860

The Lenovo S660 is a pretty solid workhorse, but if you’re looking for a little more smartphone and have the money to spend, you might want to move up to the Lenovo S860. The Lenovo S860 is the bigger and badder brother of the S660, featuring a larger screen and a massive battery.

The Lenovo S860 is equipped with a 5.3 inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280. That gives it a pixel density of 277ppi, which is a step up over the S660 in terms of both clarity and sheer size. Not a bad screen if you’re looking to consume a lot of content.

The S860 is driven by the same MT6582 chip as the S660, with a quad core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with a Mali 400 MP2 GPU. While it’s the same chip, it comes with more RAM (2GB) for better multitasking performance. It also comes with 16GB of internal storage so you don’t have to buy a micro SD card shortly after getting the S860.

Now, a larger screen with a higher resolution is bound to drain a battery faster, so the Lenovo S860 is equipped with an even more massive 4,000mAh battery versus the S660. Stand-by time is estimated at 40 days while talk time on 3G can go for as long as 24 hours. The USB OTG feature is also a neat feature that allows you to connect flash drives, keyboards and other USB-enabled accessories.

The Lenovo S860 is already available in the Philippines if you’re itching to get one. The Php15,999 asking price is a little steep compared to locally-branded smartphones, but Lenovo is an internationally recognized brand after all.
