Up until recently, Lenovo Android phones have made use of budget chipset solutions from MediaTek on their low and midrange phones and more robust yet unproven solutions from Intel for their flagship, the K900. That means Lenovo has never really had a flagship that could really give the best offerings from the likes of Samsung and LG a run for their money. Then the Lenovo Vibe Z K910 came along and made my mouth water.
The Lenovo Vibe Z K910 features a 5.5 inch Full HD screen and is powered by a Snapdragon 800 SoC, which is the most powerful chip in the market right now. It will be coupled with a generous 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and in case you find the storage capacity lacking, it’s expandable via micro SD up to 32GB. It will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.
If taking pictures is your thing, the Vibe Z will definitely make you smile as the 13mp camera comes equipped with Sony’s Exmor RS IMX135 that features a stacked sensor. The stacked structure of the sensor allows for better image quality in a smaller size and is supposed to be better than your typical BSI sensors that have been popping up in locally branded phones. The selfies won’t be as good though as the front camera is just a 5mp fixed focus shooter, but it’s not like you would need anything better for Facebook.
The Vibe Z will have dual SIM support as well as an LTE option to take advantage of 4G speeds, just as a flagship of today should. It will also come with a Samsung S View Cover-inspired flip cover with a window cutout that allows you to preview information from the phone without having to open the cover. No news on actual battery capacity just yet, but internal testing gave it a standby rating of 278 hours, which to be honest, means nothing in real world usage.
