Earlier today, the Micromax Canvas Turbo was officially unveiled in India sporting a 5 inch Full HD IPS CGS (continuous grain silicon) display, 1.5GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589T SoC, 2 GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The Canvas Turbo is the Indian phone brand’s first Full HD smartphone. In essence, the Micromax Canvas Turbo is what the Canvas 4 should have been.
Some of you may know that Micromax had built up a lot of hype toward the eventual announcement of the Canvas 4 but disappointed its fans when the actual phone didn’t come with a Full HD screen and faster processor. The Micromax Canvas Turbo addresses the Canvas 4’s shortcomings, delivering on what the Indian brand’s fans should have gotten in the first place.
Other specs include a 13mp autofocus rear-facing camera coupled with a 5mp front camera for selfies. Naturally, there’s also 3.5G/HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and a 2,000mAh battery. The Micromax Canvas Turbo runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean out of the box and comes in Midnight Blue and Pristine White color variants for a price of INR19,990.
You might be wondering why I’m posting a feature about an Indian branded smartphone. Actually, Micromax sources some of their OEM devices Tinno, which is the same OEM that MyPhone sometimes taps. So even if Micromax’s devices aren’t officially sold here in the Philippines except for a few fringe importers and retailers, there is still a good chance we might see a MyPhone-branded version of it on Philippine shores.
The Micromax Canvas Turbo retails for INR19,990, which converts to a little less than Php14k. So how about it, MyPhone? Will we be seeing this soon?
