O+ USA has been banking on expandable storage with their newest smartphones lately by bundling free micro SD cards with every purchase. Their newest release is no exception. The O+ Ultra 2.0 packs 16GB of internal storage, which most other locally available budget brands are doing as well. However, the Ultra 2.0 also comes with an extra 32GB micro SD card, giving it a whopping 48GB of total storage!
The rest of the phone’s specs are pretty attractive for its price as well. It features a 5.5 inch HD IPS display, 1.3GHz quad core processor, 2GB RAM and Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. Unfortunately, there’s no LTE, but it does have dual micro SIM support so you can use 2 networks at the same time.
Of course, it’s important to note that having 16GB of internal storage and 32GB via micro SD isn’t the same as simply having the total 48GB built-in. Apps themselves can’t be installed on a micro SD card (although their data can), so the actual usable storage for apps will be limited to how O+ USA partitions the Ultra 2.0’s storage. Still, 48GB isn’t anything to scoff at, and at Php6,895, it’s looking like a pretty solid deal.
