Redfox Aurea Teased, to be First Local Smartphone with USB Type C?

Redfox Aurea

Although they’re no stranger to the ODM business, Redfox Technologies isn’t exactly the first name you think of when it comes to local smartphones. However, that’s not stopping them from releasing their own smartphone it seems. The Redfox Aurea, as it’s being called, will sport a large 5.5 inch HD screen, Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. What makes the Aurea so special though is that it’s expected to be the first local smartphone to come with USB Type C!

It seems like a weird move for Redfox to adopt USB Type C rather than the more widely used micro USB connector. Of course, they’re all going to move to USB Type C anyway, so sooner is probably better in this regard. If the new port isn’t anything of interest to you, the Aurea is expected to come with a fingerprint scanner and fast charging support. A lot of specs have already been teased so there should already be a clear picture as to what you’re going to get. The only important unanswered questions left are how much and when will it be released.
