Samsung Galaxy C5 Packs a 5.2″ Super AMOLED Screen and is Just 6.7mm Thin

Samsung appears to be continuing the shift to more premium builds, even with their midrange offerings. The newly announced Samsung Galaxy C5 follows this trend with a 6.7mm thick metal frame. There aren’t any big compromises either as the Galaxy C5 packs a 5.2 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display to go along with a Snapdragon 617 processor, 4GB RAM, and a choice between 32GB and 64GB variants.

The rest of the specs are pretty high end. The Galaxy C5 comes with a 16mp rear camera and 8mp front camera, both of which have f/1.9 aperture. You also get 4G/LTE and dual SIM support. Running everything is Marshmallow 6.0.

If there’s possibly one weakness, it’s probably the battery, which is only rated at 2,600mAh. Sure, Marshmallow 6.0 should help manage battery drain, but Samsung does have a penchant for including a lot of bloat that may drain the battery faster than your typical smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy C5 is priced at 2,200 yuan or about Php15.7k after straight conversion. For the price, it’s a pretty solid midrange offering that should keep most casual users happy. No news on local availability yet, but it’s a good bet that we’ll be seeing this baby soon.
