With so many smartphone offerings out there each trying to offer something unique to consumers, it can become pretty difficult to choose. Well, the Turing Phone might not come from the most well-known manufacturer, but it does have something that no other smartphone has — a liquid metal-frame. The actual name of the material is Liquidmorphium, and whichever way you call it, it gives you the impression of some sort of fluid, shape-changing smartphone. Really though, it’s just a fancy term for a material that’s tougher than steel or titanium. In fact, the Turing Phone promises to be both shock-proof and waterproof, with a rating of IPx8. And it’s not just physically secure. The Turing Phone also promises secure end-to-end authentication, resulting in secure and trustworthy communication at all times.
As a smartphone, it’s also a pretty capable performer. Underneath the 5.5 inch Full HD display is the Snapdragon 801 (MSM8947AC) along with 3GB RAM and a choice between 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB of internal storage. What’s off-putting though is the price. The price(s) you’ll pay for an extra-secure phone that’s basically life-proofed is $610 for the 16GB variant, $740 for the 64GB variant, and a whopping $870 for the 128GB variant. If you happen to be one of the few who can actually afford to buy it and can overlook the fact that Turing Robotic Industries is a relatively young company, you’ll want to check out their website on July 31 when pre-orders open. You’ll need to decide quickly though as they only pan to make 10,000 units of the Turing Phone.
