Vivo V11 and V11i Annonced Along with Philippine Launch Date!

The battle for the midrange market continues with Vivo launching a couple of new smartphones in India and Thailand. The Vivo V11 and V11i appear fairly similar with slight differences in screen size and some key specs. Both put an emphasis on AI though, including camera-enhancements and a proprietary AI assistant.

Vivo V11

The Vivo V11 is the more interesting of the two, sporting a 6.41 inch screen with a water-drop notch. Similar to its flagship brother, the X21, the V11 hides an in-screen fingerprint reader that eliminates the need for the placement of a separate scanner. Under the hood, the V11 is no slouch, packing an octa-core Snapdragon 660 chipset to go along with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

2018 appears to be the year of AI and Vivo certainly isn’t one to fall behind the trend. The Chinese manufacturer has just about slapped “AI” an almost any feature it could think of, including AI Face Shaping, AI Backlight HDR, and AI Low Light mode. And that’s just the cameras. It also has an AI assistant that goes by the name of Jovi and brings weather forecasts, sports news, and the like.

Vivo V11i

While the Vivo V11i looks almost the same as the V11, it packs a smaller 6.3 inch screen and doesn’t come with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. Instead, it adopts a more traditional scanner positioned at the back. It also has a different chipset, namely MediaTek’s Helio P60. Although the chipset is capable of comparable performance as the Snapdragon 660, the Vivo V11i comes with less RAM (6GB).

While both phones were announced today, only the Vivo V11 will see a Philippine release within the foreseeable future. Their local Twitter account revealed the launch date to be on September 11, which is likely when we’ll learn how much it will go for as well.
